New Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing Program for PHENIX Employees
Our goal is to implement a continual improvement culture at Phenix Technologies.
Instructed by a consultant from the Maryland World Class Consortia, department teams have completed week-long programs in Engineering Design Throughput, Materials Management, and Machining so far. During 2009 most departments in the company will participate in a training session.
The concept behind Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing is to make the work environment more efficient and effective by creating a team atmosphere, improving everyday procedures, ensuring employee satisfaction, and making a job more fulfilling, less tiring and safer.
And Lean never ends. It becomes a journey to excellence requiring a process of measuring performance and discussing opportunities. Team meetings are held after the initial one week session to discuss the department's progress.
The end result for each employee is to be more efficient and eliminate waste wherever it occurs. Continuous improvement in procedures and practices will be rewarding to not only each individual but also to the manufacturing of the company's products, AND result in faster deliveries and better quality for our customers!
The 7th International Sales Meeting takes place September, 2009 in Accident, Maryland
PHENIX's international sales representative organization gathered this September at the manufacturing facility headquarters. The attendees received product knowledge and updates on what's new at PHENIX. This meeting helps our sales force better understand PHENIX's capabilities and strengthens their ability to discuss our equipment with our customers. During the week the group also enjoyed local cuisine and special activities.
